Car Climbing

Today I scared Daddy by climbing up onto the roof of his car when he wasn't looking. Then he looked up to have me grinning down at him. So I figured this one out all by myself. Pretty clever of me, huh? Of course, I'll never be left in the garage by my self anymore! Maybe Daddy should take me out climbing on some real rocks. I think I'm ready! P.S. At the end of the video I start to say "cheese" for the camera.

Guitar Time With Daddy

This morning Daddy & I played our guitars together. We had so much fun. I love playing my guitar with Daddy. I can't wait until I'm old enough to really learn how to play. Daddy will be a great teacher.

The GAP Fire

The GAP fire started a week ago on Tuesday July 1st. It was really scary. You could see the fire burning on the hillside from our backyard. I kept telling people there was a "fire up there" and that it was "yucky outside". It came close, but we never had to evacuate. Across the street is a golf course, so that helped. I had to play indoors a lot this past week, because the ash & smoke were so thick. You can see how it made the sky a strange color and the sun really orange. It gave me a bad cough and made it hard to sleep. One day Nana came and picked me up and took me downtown to her house, just so I could breathe some fresher air. Then I also went to the beach with Mommy & Daddy and we met Uncle Chris, Aunt Stephanie and Cousin Madisen there. It is much better around here now, so it's safer to go outside. The fire isn't out yet, but it's getting there. If you want to say thank you to our firefighters, go to: http://www.thanksgapfireresponders.com/
Today Mommy & I made a sign to hang up for the firefighters. There are over 1,000 firefighters here working on this fire. They are doing a great job protecting houses. It was my first time finger painting. I actually used my feet more than my fingers though. It was fun to squish the paint around in my toes.

Pool Time

A couple of days ago Nana & Opa came over and brought me this new pool. Mommy blew it up for me and I have been having so much fun playing in it. I love to go down slides and play in the water, so this is the perfect thing for me - a slide that lets me land in water! Too fun. Thank you Nana & Opa!

What A Mess!

Today I made a huge mess in the Family Room. I brought in a whole pile of weeds and put them in my wagon. Only problem was, they didn't all make it to the wagon. So Mommy got the vacuum out and I wanted to clean up my mess, so she let me do the vacuuming. It was hard, but also fun! Especially hearing all that dirt getting sucked up. :) I know, weeds belong OUTSIDE.

The Honolulu Zoo

I got to go to the zoo twice! Once with Daddy last Friday when Mommy was working on flowers for the wedding and once today. Can you tell which one of these pictures is me and which one is the Gibbon? Just kidding. Although, Mommy & Daddy are always telling me to be "a good little monkey" just like Curious George, so I was just following directions. Daddy's favorite part of the zoo was the Cheetah's. He followed them from one viewing spot to another for a long time. They are pretty cool though. Then I also got to pet goats. I had so much fun chasing them around, trying to ride them and even giving one a kiss. This was the perfect morning before getting on our plane to come home.

At Our Rental House

These are just a couple of pictures from the house we stayed at. This lovely toad was on the table in the Lanai one evening. Daddy got him back outside where he belonged. Then I was playing around this tree right outside the front door. It was a good place to stay. Near the beach and away from traffic. I got to sleep on my own mattress in Mommy & Daddy's room. We had a kitchen and a TV so I could watch George in the morning (since I tended to get up on the earlier side). Daddy would set me up with milk and George and then he would go swimming, while Mommy worked on getting out of bed.

Shark's Cove

After Mommy got a massage, we drove up to the North Shore to Shark's Cove. I took my nap on the way up. This is a great tide pool area. It is really protected from the crashing waves, so I felt safe. I actually got in the ocean and sat down, so that the water was up to my chin. Mommy played with me, while Daddy snorkeled for a while. As we were leaving I found another beachy area where I would get close to the water, run back to the beach, tell someone the wave was coming and then sit down. She thought I was cute. After we left we drove down to Waikiki and met Aunt Joyce for dinner.

Kailua Tide Pools

In the morning we went across the street to the tide pools over near the boat launch ramp. This was one of my favorite places. The morning was the best time, because the tide was low and I felt safe playing in the water. We saw lots of fun things here. Daddy found a baby lobster and we saw fish and crabs too. We were able to borrow some sand toys from our rental house, so I got to use a shovel, a bucket and a rake at the beach too.

Brian & Terri's Wedding

Brian & Terri got married today. Mommy did great getting the girls down the aisle and the wedding was beautiful. This was the flower arrangement that Mommy worked on for many hours yesterday. Then we headed to the reception over in Waikiki. It was a long drive and we were very late due to traffic. After lunch I was getting bored, so Mommy danced with me, Daddy took me downstairs in the hotel to see their enormous aquarium and I played on the pay phone outside the reception pretending to call Daddy and Grandma. We we got back in the car I just relaxed. Then I crashed when we got home and slept for almost 14 hours. Wow, was I tired. It was a great day though.

Kailua Beach

Today we went to Kailua Beach, which is right across the street from where we are staying. Yesterday we went out on a boat and Daddy took me into the ocean, but it scares me. I love to play in the sand and tidepools though. Mommy played with me on this boat launch ramp and splashed in the water to help me be more comfortable. Then she showed me how our feet disappear in the wet sand. We had lots of fun. I still won't go in the ocean, but it's ok if it washes up to my feet now. Thanks Mommy!

Hawaii Here We Come!

Today we drove down to LAX and flew on a plane over the ocean to Hawaii. We are staying on Oahu in Kailua. Mommy's co-worker, Brian, is getting married to Terri on Saturday the 21st and Mommy is helping coordinate and arrange flowers. They've worked together for over 10 years. We had so much fun while we were there. We got to go to the beach everyday, go on a boat, to the Honolulu zoo twice & we met Aunt Joyce for dinner one night. I did great on the planes and the flight attendants thought I was adorable. One even gave me some chips. Yummy. This picture was taken after the wedding at Cliff & Renee's house (Mommy's bosses) in Kaneohe.
