"I am a fork lift. I am very strong!"
Lyrics to my latest song..."When my friends aren't here, I am sad. When my friends are here, I am happy." (You have to imagine this being sung while I play my guitar.)

Happy 3rd Birthday Nathaniel!

I had so much fun at your party today. The farm is so much fun! I loved the tractor ride and dressing up in my farm outfit (& I'm not a guy that likes to dress up much). I kept asking Mommy when we got to go back and play some more. I'm so glad I got to come and celebrate with you! Happy Birthday My Friend!

How does my garden grow?
This summer Mommy, Daddy & I have been planting a garden in our backyard. First we planted tomatoes, peppers, onions, cucumbers and herbs. Then as we cleared out more scrappy bushes we planted lettuce, zucchini, squash, & pumpkins. This past week we finishing clearing out the wall and planted broccoli, peas, carrots, beans, more lettuce and spinach. I love working in the garden and especially eating cilantro right off the plant. Hmmmm...yummy!
This is my favorite part - breaking open the bags of manure!
An Outdoor Concert
I put on an outdoor concert for Mommy this afternoon. I just love playing my guitar!

August Quotes by M.D.
I told Mommy a story and then I said, "That's funny. You should put that on my blog!"
"Is it Nana time? They're home."
I asked Mommy, "Where's Daddy?" She said he was at work, so I said, "It's just us chickens!"
Mommy and Grandma were going to painting class and I wanted to go, but they said I'd be bored. So I told them, "I want to go. I want to be bored." It didn't work though!
Mommy & Daddy were talking and I said, "No, stop talking or I'll lose my thoughts."
I asked Mommy what she was doing and she said she was being silly. I told her "You can't be silly, only Daddy & I are silly."
Mommy put me to bed and said good night and I told her, "You can't leave Mommy, because I have to take care of you."

Daddy's Santa Barbara Triathlon
Today, we got up really early and went down to East Beach to watch Daddy in his Triathlon. He competed in the Long Course this year. He swam 1 mile, biked 34 and ran 10. That's a really long ways! Nana, Shelley & Marc were there too & Louise from church. We had breakfast while Daddy was out on his bike and I played in the sand and on the play structure while we waited for him to come back. I even had a cow bell to ring when Daddy came by for his transitions.

Here comes Daddy! Yeah! He did so great! He came in 32nd in his age group (out of 109) and 171st over all (out of 754). I think that's pretty good for his first time on this long of a course. Daddy did his whole race in 3 hours, 33 minutes and 57 seconds. The clock below shows the time for the first wave of racers. Daddy left 10 minutes later.
Good job Daddy!

The Pillow Head Band
Pillow Heads put on a concert for Mommy this morning. I had so much fun playing with Daddy. I think we should go on tour! Of course, maybe someone should tune my guitar first...
Happy 6th Birthday Zach!
Happy Birthday Zach! I had so much fun at Zach's pirate party today! We went on a treasure hunt, had yummy cake and played in a pool. The pool wasn't really part of the plan, so we went home really wet, but it was so much fun that Mommy didn't seem to mind. I did get a few strange looks as I rode my bike home naked though. My clothes were just too wet to wear and we didn't have any spares.

A Haircut For Me & Daddy
Daddy & I gave each other haircuts today. I had fun cutting Daddy's hair. I wanted it to look just like mine. I think Daddy was a little worried, but I did a pretty good job I think.
