Happy Birthday To Me! I'm 3! (well almost)

Today I had people over to celebrate my 3rd birthday. It was a construction theme and Daddy was the Foreman. I got to help Shelley and Mommy finish decorating my birthday cake by putting the "dirt" on the cake. Hmmm yummy! It was really hard to resist eating it before my friends arrived.

Looks like everyone loved my cupcake cake. Mommy made them extra special by baking chocolate chip cookie dough into the middle of them.

Daddy helped me open my presents. I received lots of fun stuff to play with and some clothes to wear.

We had a lot of fun. Papa really enjoyed decorating our house with construction caution tape. Daddy did a great job cooking lunch. Shelley was super helpful getting stuff set up too. Thank you to everyone who made my day really special. Just 2 more days and I'll be 3!

Tonsils, Adenoids, & Ear Tubes, Oh My!

Today I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out and I also had my tubes in my ears redone. Mommy took me down to the outpatient center at Cottage Hospital. My appointment wasn't until 8:15 am and I couldn't eat or drink anything after I went to bed. What a bummer! Grandma, Grandpa and Nana met us down there and helped entertain me while we waited. Surgery wasn't scheduled until 9:30, so we had lots of time to hang around. Another little boy who was having surgery lent me a book to read and then Grandma brought me some new people to play with. That entertained me for quite a while. Finally, they took us back to the prep area and gave me some fun medicine. Everyone thought I looked drunk, whatever that means. Then we watched Pooh's Heffelump movie for a while while the medicine kicked in. My nurse was our friend from church, Priscilla. It was nice to have a friend with me. After the surgery, Daddy came over from work across the street to be with me for a little bit and then Mommy took over (or at least tried to). The nurses left to get some pain medicine for me and Mommy started to not feel so good. Can't bring her anywhere near a hospital. So sad! They had to take her to a recovery room and put a wet washcloth on her forehead. Luckily I fell asleep, so I didn't notice that both Mommy & Daddy were gone. At least the nice nurses took good care of me. After another hour or so, I got to go out to the recovery room with Mommy & Grandpa and watch PBS and have a Popsicle. I wasn't too interested in it though. I think most of it melted. I fell asleep again and after a couple more hours we got to go home. Then I ate a ton of ice-cream. I guess that's one good thing about this surgery. That and all my favorite people were with me most of the day. At least it's over now!

Little Drummer Boy

One of my favorite things to do at church is go up on stage and play the drums. Sometimes I get to play when Mommy is on worship team, during rehearsal. They let me drum for them. (Mostly I think it's just to keep me entertained, but I don't care - it's fun!). Otherwise, I have to wait until church is over and then I can play while everyone is standing around talking to each other. It's good entertainment. The cool thing is I actually can keep a beat sometimes, so I sound pretty good!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Today everyone went to Opa & Nana's house for lunch after the church service at the Sunken Gardens. I had fun playing with Madisen on my new car and on the trampoline.

Before lunch, Opa hid Easter eggs for us to find. I enjoyed eating the candy & nuts I found inside them. One even had a little frog flashlight inside it. So fun!

My New Wheels

I went over to Opa & Nana's house last night for a sleepover. I was so excited that I kept asking when Nana was coming to pick me up about every 2 minutes. I couldn't contain my grin when she finally arrived. Then Opa surprised me with this fun car. I was a little intimidated by it at first and Opa was so patient with me while trying to teach me how to drive it. I liked it best when Opa pushed it, instead of using its own power. Thank you Opa!

Easter Egg Hunt

This afternoon Mommy took me to Grandma's church (St. Andrew's) for an Easter egg hunt. I was a little shy at first, but once I started finding eggs (with help from Mommy & Grandma) then I didn't want to stop. It was so much fun. After my nap, I got to open all my eggs and see what was inside them. I put the candy in a bag and played with the ball and stickers that were in some of the eggs. I can't wait to go back and hunt for eggs next year.

I Dressed Myself!

Last night I decided to get myself dressed for bed. I didn't want any help. I picked out my own "jammies" and put them on. I know they don't match and my shirt is on backwards, but I put them on all by myself. Daddy was amazed!

Riding My Bike

I've been learning how to ride a bike. When one of our neighbors moved away they left it behind to have it thrown out and our other neighbor took it and fixed it up for me. Daddy has been teaching me to ride. He bought me some training wheels and today I went all the way around the block. It's fun to ride with Daddy. Sometimes I need a little help getting going, but after that I do pretty good. I am really good at breaking too. I always wear my helmet for safety too! I also like to work on my bike in the garage just like Daddy does with his bike.

Balloon Popping

I got a few balloons from a birthday party this week and Daddy blew them up for me. Then I tried to pop them. The loud bang doesn't scare me. It didn't always work, but I sure had fun trying.

Happy 2nd Birthday Tessa!

We buzzed on over to Tessa's 2nd Birthday party today. Her party was at one of my favorite parks - Tucker's Grove. We had so much fun playing and chasing bubbles. I didn't want to leave. Happy Birthday Tessa!

Trampoline Fun with Opa & Madisen

After Tessa's party today, Mommy & I went over to Nana & Opa's house for the afternoon. I got to stay when Mommy went to church and she picked me up afterwards. I love playing on the trampoline with Opa and Madisen. It is one of my favorite things to do.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday Daddy! Today is Daddy's birthday (I won't say how old he is today). It was such a beautiful day we went to the beach. Normally the ocean is a little scary, but today I decided that it was more fun to get naked and be chased by the water. I also did a little sun bathing! (hee hee - not really, it was just fun to lay in the sand.) Daddy & I also spent lots of time throwing rocks into the water. Then Mommy wanted to take my picture, but didn't want it to be x-rated, so I held a rock to cover up. Mommy & I also drew in the sand. We had lots of fun. It was a great day.
